A little bit about Redheads: For centuries, the intrigue and charms of women with red hair have been the subject of art, folklore and history. Redheads have evoked legends and passion and even surveys and studies. Today there are international clubs, books and websites devoted exclusively to the uniqueness of redheads. Redheads were a favorite subject of 19th-century British artists. Many of the most famous Victorian paintings featured beautiful redheaded ladies.  In the paintings of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, beautiful redheads were constantly fending off love-struck suitors and redheads were the subjects of the 19th-century’s most romantic paintings. When it was time for a knight in shining armor to rescue a beautiful damsel in distress, of course, the damsel had red hair.
