Its that time again! Time to update the list of FREE Stock Photos. The previous list had 61 photo sites (some of whom are no longer around). This one has a list of 76+ FREE STOCK PHOTO SITES that are active as of this publishing date. If you have trouble looking for photos to share, photos online -quality photos that are easily accessed (and mostly free), this list of 76+ FREE photo/texture/clipart and webpage header graphics sites is a great resource. If you write a blog, write articles or are putting together a book/ebook that needs images to “dress it up,” these 76+ FREE/Creative Commons stock photo sites are worth checking out. All of the sites listed offer images for use for free (be sure and check the terms of use for each site). Many of them also offer photos for a fee (they are often referred to as Royalty Free which means that you don’t need to pay the photographer a royalty each time you use the image. Each of these sites are worth exploring. Be sure to read the “terms of use” before using any of the photos or graphics for commercial use.

Creative Commons – Here you can search Flickr, Wikimedia, and other sites for Creative Commons licensed images.

- Ancestry Images offers an archive of artifact, historical prints and maps.
- A Prettier WEB filled with girly photos.
- Dribble has several free images including stickers and more.
- Death of the Stock Photo – delivered in a subscription format monthly.
- Dreamstime offers free and for fee photos on their site.
- EveryStockPhoto.com is a search engine for free photos. Membership is free and allows you to rate, tag, collect and comment on photos.
- FAKE MAGAZINE COVER -you can create a fake magazine cover – Put your photo on the cover of hundreds of different magazines
- Flickr – Many Flickr users have chosen to offer their work under a Creative Commons license, and you can browse or search through content under each type of license
- FreeFoto.com is the largest collection of free photographs on the Internet (link back and attribution required). The comprehensive, yet easy to navigate site, offers images that are free for on-line use, with higher quality versions available for sale
- FreeImages.co.uk More than 2500 original and high quality stock photographs here; tons of great categories to choose from.
- FREE Images was formerly StockXCHNG and is filled with thousands of FREE images (be sure and check their licensing requirements as they are stricter than most free sites.
- FreeMediaGoo has royalty-free, cost-free media you can use on the net, in print, film and more. For commercial and personal use
- FreePixels.com another site to Download Free Stock Photos and Images
- FreeRangeStock.com All images are at least 2400 x 1600, and photos can be used for commercial or personal projects
- FreeStockPhotos.biz is categoried to make it easy to find what you are looking for.

- ImageBase you can use the images for whatever you want, personal, commercial or non-profit use for free
- Foodies feed – free food photos
- EVERYPIXEL – Stock image search engine powered by AI- search for FREE and FEE images…
- At FreeImages.co.uk you’ll find a library of stock photography for use on websites, printed media, products and anywhere you need a photo to help with illustration and design
- Free Typeography free type fonts.
- Flatiron is a site filled with Free vector icons.
- Google Images – just type what you are looking for in the search bar and see what shows up
- HassleFreeClipArt offers free web clip art without the hassle of pop-ups, runaround links, and annoying sign-up forms.
- Image*After is a large online free photo collection. You can download and use any image or texture from our site and use it in your own work, either personal or commercial
- iStock offers new images weekly. All you do is signup for membership – it’s free!
- Little Visuals is a cool site/app that sends you 7 new photos/images every 7 days!
- MorgueFile.com Free images for your inspiration, reference and use in your creative work, be it commercial or not!

- OpenPhoto offers images of the day and curated photos.

- PhotoGen.com Photogen requires registration before downloading. Nice built-in search to help you find the photos you need
- Photl.com You can download up to 40 Mb of photos daily. There are from 7000 to 10000 new photos monthly
- PhotoPin is a search engine for free photos on Flickr – search results of millions of photos and their licensing terms.
- PhotoRack.net Images are broken down into categories (no search function). Lots of images!
- PhotoVaco.com – high quality photos for free
- PicJumbo has totally free photos for your commercial & personal works
- Picography is filled with FREE hi-resolution photos you can use as you like.
- Pixabay.com -Another outstanding site for high quality photos (see example to the right.
- PickupImage has a large selection of nature photography.
- Public Domain Images are those curated by bloggers.
- RGBStock.com has a huge number of high quality stock photos and dazzling free graphics for illustrations, wallpapers and backgrounds.
- SplitShire – Great searchable database of FREE photos and graphics
- StockCache Hundreds of high quality free stock images; all are available for use under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which means you can use the photos freely as long as you cite where you got them.
- StockPic offers totally free personal and commercial use photos and even emails you 10 new photos every 2 weeks.

- Wylio is a great picture finder, that allows you to resize and attribute photos properly. Can resize up to 5 free images a month.
- Magdeleine: Features a collection of hand-picked photos for your inspiration, including categories for people, animals, food, nature, city & architecture, objects, abstract, and technology.
- Pexels: Has a wide variety of of free stock images, receiving 50 new additions of high-quality photos every day.
- StockSnap.io: Claiming its “not your typical crappy stock photo site.” StockSnap adds hundreds of high-resolution versatile and interesting photos each week with search bar to make it easier to find just the right image.
- Pikwizard – Free stock photos for all your creative needs
- StockFreeImages – Most are free but if you see a little white circle in the left hand corner, they are from the dreamstime collection and are NOT free.
- PNGTree – love all the free transparent background images and vectors they have! You can download 2 images a day for free or purchase one of their plans which are very reasonably priced for unlimited downloads!
- Unrestricted Stock – offers royalty-free photos, videos, and vectors at no cost
- The New York Public Library features more than 180,000 images in their Digital Collections (public domain).
- Jay Mantri has really cool free photos to checkout.
- Designers Pics -nice site and can be used for commercial purposes without attribution.
- IM Free – thousands of hi-res photos
- Skitterphoto -adds a new pic every day (and has since 2014).
- Fotor – more than 220 million free (searchable) Creative Commons images.
